Evidence Levels in Research
Scientific Transparency Fundamentals
Not all scientific information carries the same weight. Learn the four evidence levels used across the catalog so you can describe any compound accurately.
The four levels
Established science covers basic chemistry, structure, and characterization of the molecule. Preclinical research covers laboratory and animal-model studies of biological activity. Clinical research covers human studies, where any exist — results are always study-specific. Experimental or limited evidence covers early findings that remain insufficiently studied.
Why this matters
A molecule being "studied for" a biological effect is not proof of benefit. When you speak with researchers, attribute every statement to its evidence level: "preclinical studies have investigated..." is accurate; "this helps with..." is a prohibited claim. Transparency here is what separates a professional research-products distributor from an internet seller.
Key takeaways
- Match every statement to its evidence level.
- "Studied for" is honest; "works for" is a claim.
- Experimental findings are never proven benefits.
