Handling & Storage Knowledge
Research Areas & Compound Knowledge
Laboratory customers expect you to understand how research compounds must be stored and handled before and after delivery.
Storage fundamentals
Lyophilized material is stored refrigerated at 2–8°C, protected from light and moisture; laboratory freezing is commonly used for extended storage. Every batch COA carries product-specific handling guidance. Communicate these requirements at the point of sale so a laboratory can receive the shipment properly.
What you may and may not advise
You may advise on storage, receiving, and documentation for the laboratory. You may not provide preparation, dosing, or administration guidance for any living subject — that is outside the research-use scope and outside your role. Direct those questions to the customer’s own institutional protocols.
Key takeaways
- Communicate storage requirements before the shipment arrives.
- The batch COA is the authoritative handling reference.
- Dosing or administration guidance for living subjects is always off-limits.
